I started painting as recently as January 2022 after thirty years spent running a sailing and events PR Consultancy, under my maiden name, Peta Stuart-Hunt.

I paint mainly in acrylics, but also enjoy using oils, watercolours and mixed media and have finally found the time to bring to life some of the imagery that has been buzzing around in my imagination for so many years. It's a continuous learning process and a real delight to share here with fellow 'imaginators'!

Examples of collages

I enjoy attending regular art classes, and occasional workshops in the beautiful surroundings of the Palais des Vaches (painting in acrylics and oils with tutor Stewart Beckett).

I am a member of our local Lymington Arts Group and exhibit with them twice a year.

I also enjoy doing online watercolour courses with Art Safari with marine artist Claudia Myatt to make the most of this lovely medium.

I live with my husband on the edge of Lymington, in the New Forest. It's a magical place that always inspires me.

After some 40 years living and working in the South of England, I can't imagine being anywhere else. It provides me with an endless source of inspiration for my paintings as well as an abundance of clean air and beautiful walks.

Footnote: Mack, our beautiful labrador, sadly passed away very suddenly at the end of May '25. We're hoping a new black pup will join us later in 2026.
